i choose lies

Choice

and why not

when the hammer breaks

ice already thin –

and skin is too much,

flawless, blemished with a

hurtful –

choose this utopia

because like a fairy tale

retold –

some have money,

others only illusions,

why not both?

with many gestures faked

just because you like it that way.

and lips are sealed

when eyes do not gaze

with emotions

buried deep.

so deep i no longer remember

where it was first

found –

narration, a story retold

and every disfigured puppet

smiles at the mirror –

we’re all winners

here. in this merry train

where shells no longer stick.

cast off – with a shrug

when i no longer need you.
