a cat meows, a duck quacks, a dog barks,
a chicken clucks, a man grins when he is about
to pounce, grins when he catches the meaning of a joke,
grins as the door open and the C suit now belongs to him,
grins when horror comes but he acts brave, grins when
the devil seduces him, grins when asked for an explanation –
tries to break the tension.
a man fears when the moments comes about, this
could go either way, smugness enters as a bulb lights,
pride as success falls upon him, shivers at what is visible,
allows all hell to break loose, panic mode.
a man looms larger than his ego, feels tearful for his friend being played,
this is his nightmare – surely the fall will be great,
elation appears because he had always known this,
growls at the tempting offer: breaks free,
aloof, uncaring, despising those sophist.
grins bear many meanings, the heart even more so,
surely the hands of time, the hands of hours flee past
like dashing wind towards the peak,
what moves you?
what moves me?
who are you?
who am i?
grin, baring teeth:
and life within stirs, a flit, a shiver,
a silhouette visible in the pupils of the eyes,
i hear you,
i see you,
a million shadows passing through
the heart –
and one core beating
through a million thoughts, emotions
through paths chosen, advancing towards
the top of the mountain.
you made you,
i made me.
