yawns so very wide,
like a black hole swallowing
up the sun.
winks out of existence,
wolves howl when the moon
no longer makes her exit
as night becomes permanent.
what does it mean?
life dwindles, winks out of existence
no longer nourished by warmth taken
for granted.
new life begins, forms, growing aware of coldness,
multiplying, evolving, making progress
with night’s cool touch.
then the jaws clamp shut, tight
with fire wanting to touch
the chilly black sky.
glass ceilings remain, unafraid of heat,
insatiable black hole
becomes night’s partner, life celebrates
with the old world gone.
does it matter?
groans and moans sickly heat,
unable to pass through night –
squeeze, choking away, the feeble old
wants to tell a story.
when green pastures reached towards
blue skies,
donkeys pranced around, as did bambi
that frolicked amidst trails and bushes,
stamped out.
with the ghouls, vampires, revenant
spitting, hissing,
swallowing up fire, light and life.
insatiable,
stomping away.
they feel no pain, no joy, no peace,
insatiable, morbid, a gnashing of teeth
with the dead killing the dead,
they believe this to be life.
and feral slinks away in the darkness,
the sun is a bane, a curse, damnation
a rainbow promise misunderstood –
when insatiable
became god.
