unplugged, electricity without a medium
to translate – what am i trying to say?
nothing of importance,
because in a world of self,
no one gets it all: that is so very selfish!
take more, get more – why not?
adam smith’s invisible hand scrawls,
the system is working he cries from his grave!
the ivory tower rumbles, groans, moans
when the sky begins to sink, the blue touches
the green sea,
ouch: the machinery begins to shoot out sparks,
someone bring the fireman,
but he just clocked out, said the receptionist
who is going on her lunch break.
ceo’s roar, thunder cracks the blue open,
it spills out the innards to the working class,
hey we want more too!
but electricity needs a medium, the copper is cut,
fizzle away with no path to travel
cried the scientist who is fascinated by currents
though rather dense on the green sea slowly swallowing
him alive.
what? no help is coming?
the sparkle has turned into a raging inferno eager to silence
the silly green face man puking out sea water,
it is just sea water, get over it said the receptionist
back on her lunch break and is now absorbed with her
new iphone.
intestines swell and burst open, the
livid red is a burning memory of fire cast down from heaven
as the machinery no longer beseeches
from the ivory tower unable to come up with gimmicks.
this does not work,
told the serious politician unable to understand why
this mess cropped up in the first place,
surely the invisible hand could scrawl?
bleep, bleep, bleep
the ai robots took charge, ousted out the blue
and took over the green face fireman who has
turned up but is no longer needed. fire has done it’s damage. go home.
the robot said,
meanwhile the middle class took stage for answers
that never came: we’re decimated!
hey, join us cried out the working class,
and selfishness continues to go bleep, bleep, bleep
with plugs attached, the copper wire intact,
electricity flows wildly, it was one fine summer
as i sat next to a robot who told me: i’m better.
