that a glance became something more,
that a fight up that hill taught a village simpleton
how real battle actually works,
that swords forged from the river styx cuts
the soul,
that subtlety is an art that is often hinted, implied
but never agreed formally,
that the play of words sums up what we do, how we think,
how we feel –
that our choices become the seeds we plant in this sacred garden
and they all compete with the earth
that reality has a way of creeping in when you lest expect it
that a-ha, oh-no moment,
that we are shadows attached to the tallest tree that has
become the pinnacle,
that many trails converge to roads, railways but the screaming
sound of regret never gets heard,
that uniqueness is a common fallacy shared by many weary travelers
eager to make light conversation
that categorization is a misapplied method made up by reductionist
eager for a simple solution
that forecasting is a magical hat born at birth and made stronger
with the passage of time
that intent and motive are for all practical purposes completely
irrelevant to what did take place
that what did take place is highly debatable considering that life
is a play of words and acumens
which leads one back to the beginning of all things –
