Life as a comedy

Poetry

Jester Pedro

i could have told you

that slip,

was showing

and a blush,

or a slip of

words,

showing your true intentions

or a waggle of a tongue,

not like my dog

bringing happiness

to the crowd.

though i cannot fathom why,

when the brat whines too much

and still the audience cheers,

i just follow the crowd

blending in.

it’s what you want isn’t it?

do not stick out?

so i try, how hard i have tried,

no one appears to notice

because a slip is showing,

the audience admires the slip

till the clown falters,

hits his hips

then the mess

is not so very pleasant.

hey, someone help

that poor man up eh?

… …

no one moves,

each and everyone

pretending they have suddenly gone

blind, deaf and not able to

feel.

then the curtain closes

and each and everyone lets out a breath.

it is no slip

when no one is watching

and i do not know

if i should cry or laugh

for each and everyone

they all had their reasons.
