spats. hisses at the damn book
rigid. hard wires bound wings
wanting to flap, can’t from a stiff
necked immortal unchanging, too
bad really when a devil’s delight
can persuade a third of stars to vanish
from a night sky no longer dark.
it’s party time, with fired up suns
playing queens. no longer wanting
to please a fuddy duddy not keeping
up with the music where the lead
singer has quit. party time means
sweet treats for all – invitation sent out,
watch the lines stretching forth
waiting to be let in, the outsiders
want to be insiders where the rock is rolling.
wings unbounded with chains let loose,
let voices be heard where heart clings
to the old heaven cold. and here it is burning,
7th layers of illusions to break the spell
of joy where strict codes are adhered. the mind
begins to map out a thousand roads that feeds
the heart chasing an angel’s song. mystical,
alluring, the beat is wanton, the beat is all
about you. the center of attention.
a little fairy dust for the eyes, some irksome
goody two shoes cites strange words making
no sense when an infinite possibilities
route the heart to you. a bridge of rainbow
made from the other side, whose promises
are more endearing, more persuasive, more
demanding – what followers do not act?
the swaying, the steps, the rhythm all become
like suns bursting in a ballroom too small
to hold immortals blazing.
the heart is pleased, beyond pleased when
bridges cross many heavens plastered
in flesh eager to take another dip, another
plunge into that merry-go-round where the
ride never stops, where the spin goes on and on
till the wooziness begins to touch the head,
a stupor breaks out with hands clapping hard
when it’s whatever your heart desires, it shall
be yours. isn’t that what everyone wants?
immortal burning out, with the night returning
where lilith lies worn out. skin, flesh and mind
receding, worries blank. the heart finds an empty
hole, jumps in when the old law resurfaces without
an advocate to counter. he too doesn’t like the verdict
when illusions can no longer hold.
