how we used to poke fun at one
another, how we used to ridicule
each other, how we jested, played coy – how we.
and we liked it, it was cordial,
it was non antagonistic, it was affectionate,
it was imaginative, warm fuzzy feelings
and the sparkles have fizzed away, flat, inert, dead.
what happened?
the long drag, a hurricane bringing out the dust
best left undisturbed beneath meditative earth
whose om is broken when land splits apart,
cuts, lava like blood bleeds out.
not so focused now, contemplative, divine
gone to a frenzy, a mock rush
that because something is urgent, it has to be
important. but we know don’t we?
the faint pokes now, the jest, the coy smirk
like needles in stomach, poisonous snakes in hearts
spitting, burying more hallucinogens into the mind,
or was it the other way around?
that we’ve crossed path, still the same man, woman
person – the walls have become so thick
i no longer sense your presence, even if you did
a back flip, i startle not!
it can’t be, can it?
not after all this time, not after all the groans
of angry earth, of obsidian so beautiful,
yes, this orange tinge has solidified, crystalized.
become.
wicked thoughts, forever trapped
within: screaming of memories unreal.
