capture utopia

Stage

and forget one thing,

psst – you.

moving along with the waves

a pendulum wild,

stands on tip toes

like a ballerina

waltz across the hall

and a hall that waltzes with you

seems like there is no movement

as earth

spins lazily

on an axis

meeting you half way.

across chasms, past oceans,

ice breaks – cracks

with many crystals

rushing towards

that great big vortex!

end of time,

a ballerina

halts, stares in stupor

realizing that all this while,

no movement has been made;

tensed body cramps up –

a scream, a wave burst forth from deep within

and earth’s overpowering force

rushes up

expels into

eyes frantic, throat squeezes mighty like

like a spasm: chasms are crossed

tip toe

be dainty like

touch crystals

forever trapped in this winter.

cold, so very cold – stiff lips, swollen legs

squatting unkempt

untidy coarse

and the earth stood still.

beats, the hall slows to a halt, lifts one foot up

tentatively to climb heaven’s staircase

materializing

shimmering – capture perfection before

the slow dull

drift drift as

tides move, lives go about their daily business

and winter sighs,

;lovely crystals no more

rushes on

downstream

as kids pee and poop

in this once nearly perfect state.
