the religious man, the saint, the sinner, the gambler,
the criminal, the agnostic, the atheist, the nihilistic
they all met on a sunday picnic
and it was really quite predictable, quite horrifying,
quite enlightening, quite amusing, quite remarkable
how they all agreed on what they had in common.
and they have plenty!
though it seems unlikely at first sight,
what is so very apparent when one digs, scratches
skin, which breaks.
they all had perspectives from each angle,
after all being human means just that.
have you forgotten?
then the choices are made, for each coins inserted
into the slot of life,
another random bunch of cards.
sure, we all play differently,
even with similar situations,
sure we all risk differently,
even with unlikely probabilities,
sure, we all predict mostly badly,
and keep our predictions anyways.
nature versus nurture … …
free will and pre-destination … …
it’s all of it isn’t it?
and yet the choices make us,
forms us, becomes us.
and yes humans are different,
different choices, different situations, different make ups.
this whole chemistry thing,
it takes more than a spark to fire up a damp wood.
yeah some people do not click,
that’s how it goes.
till faces wear out, till skins fade out, till our skeletons
see the light of day –
then it all becomes crystal clear
why our inhibitions, our fears, our hopes
our instincts – had all been like traffic lights.
warning, steering, trying to capture this moment,
who are you?
who am i?
another stamp, another path chosen, another decision made,
you,
me,
hidden from the light of day.
