w h o s p e aks?
a tremor, a wide eyed man
whispers in the dark.
and it was a gut instinct,
a reflect, cerebral barely lighted up
before the hammer went down
to smash
a nail daring to stick out.
c r a ck
a regret, a nostalgia, a bargaining
if had to have to must
but rationale is an odd ball
when the end
is the same end
rich or poor
alike. they all stare into the
abyss infinite
and gold coffers, a devil’s advocate
silently retreats.
the journey then?
this time s p a n
and spring out those lovely
lies soothing to the ears!
c r ack
an egg, barely ready
c rush
life not able to test waters
when solid paths merge
with the ephemeral.
untouched, unspoiled
roads, trails, they may as well have been clouds
when fantasy and psychology
give a firm handshake.
now taken for reality,
for there is little else to go by – save
experience, a poor teacher when the maze has already
shifted, the minotaur
sets loose his minions
feel them – – –
fear, desolation, despondency
shame guilt damnation
cripples
a warrior
who is no longer fit for knighthood.
while the minotaur advances – his minions have done
their work well,
enchant the prey!
then siren, succubus mammon
mouths avarice
and a dance is made.
s m a sh
as warriors and maidens fall
shsssssssssssssssh
don’t tell the person listening behind this door,
as muffled screams
quiet down. tap tap tap
down the corridors winding winding staircases
and hidden eggs hatch, they do not hasten to the call
of instinct, or the minds of a labyrinth meant to dismantle faith, the mind
to spiral – hushed out.
a new line emerges, untested, unspoiled,
fantasy meets psychology, and a touch of faith
becoming more firm, a shell hardens, a fire burst inside,
then the minions they came – splat shame, fear
a host of hexes, curses stick on the life daring to
rebel against the $ god.
who goes there?
and this time the tremor was gone, eyes keen
senses alive as labels on the outside
do not touch breathing fire.
it was not logic,
not feelings,
certainly not the man
who held on to the only thing
that the minotaur, the labyrinth
had no power over: love,
joy,
peace,
patience,
kindness,
goodness,
faithfulness,
gentleness,
self-control.
you hear me don’t you?
and that fire blazed at the voice.
