yeah you heard right –
cackle like a banshee,
wiggle like a dunce,
prance like a peacock,
then peck the ground
like there is gold in it.
don’t have to,
till the $ god leaves
then the frantic pace begins,
go out into the streets and knock
no door opens
unless you have some
of this $ god, you do have some don’t you?
can’t you: a kindly woman shuts the door softly
and kids they make funny faces
seeing that you have now become one of them
having to ask for permission
on anything. feels vulnerable
s u f f o c a ting
tingles up your spine, more like spasms
in your head
exploding.
hunger burns,
medicine costs,
even clean water ain’t free.
and in time to come,
not even clean air.
you must pay dear,
a man with some $ god explains as if talking to a child
work. you must work.
but the doors are all closed –
cause it is always something, why
how, not you. someone else got the job.
frantic eyes
pacing more
time to wiggle like a dunce now?
never. with back straight,
how resolved!
knock knock
and fear enters the bones,
knock knock
and doubt poisons the mind,
knock knock
and faith goes to hell,
hellish demons mock of virtue –
ready to cackle like a banshee now?
tears fill a dozen bowls,
sorrow overwhelms an ocean
grief takes hold of the spirit
now prance like a peacock … …
good upbringing becomes distant,
honest work a cruel joke,
bff is nothing but dust.
peck the ground
yeah –
there is $ gold in the ground
disillusionment,
come weary traveler
and part from old ways that save not.
bends the will,
bends the mind,
breaks the spirit.
and all the while –
people talk. people walk.
you tell me: which matter?
