agree to everything a salesman says,

agree to sign every contract without looking,

agree to take their word for it,

agree never to question their reasoning,

agree to simply trust their good intentions,

agree to give them the benefit of doubt,

agree to be completely transparent,

agree to get audited for anything they disagree with,

agree to follow their line of reasoning,

agree to never disagree with their final judgement,

agree to believe in the ultimate kindness of humans,

agree to trust your eyes only that what they say and do

when you are watching is exactly who they are as people,

agree to every whim, wish, fantasy they sputter,

agree when they use religion to get across,

agree that they have suddenly become family,

agree that they will never use, say anything, against you,

disagree only when they show fangs, spit lava, hurl hailstones

disagree as fist clenches, knives are drawn, weapons laid bare

disagree when agreement failed: or else.

or else what?

isn’t that what it really boils down to?

this scene played a million times over,

you will not,

you will walk out,

you too will draw guns.

a double standard then,

this silly thing called diplomacy.
